Your Guides: Two Brothers, One Mission

An encounter with the giants of the ocean is a profound experience that calls for complete trust and genuine expertise. At Ocean Giants Safari, you don't head out onto the Indian Ocean with an ordinary excursion operator, but with two experts for whom the sea is a second home: my brother Richard Crown, a trained marine biologist, and me, Tom Crown, a practising doctor.

We share not just our family bond, but a lifelong passion for travel and untouched nature. Our deep fascination lies with the oceans and protecting their vulnerable inhabitants — especially the majestic sperm and humpback whales. We've made it our personal mission to actively champion animal welfare and preserve these animals' habitat.

That's exactly why we founded Ocean Giants Safari. We want to help our guests feel the magic of these animals without interfering with their nature. That's why we travel exclusively in small groups. We approach the whales gently, without disturbing them, and always from the right, respectful distance.

On board, Richard shares his deep scientific knowledge with you and explains exactly what's happening above and below the surface. At the same time, my presence as a doctor ensures the highest medical safety standards on board.
